Today we’d like to introduce you to Elissa .
Thanks for sharing your story with us Elissa. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Over the years, Atlanta has become my adoptive hometown. I am originally from Toronto, Canada and my parents are from Belfast, Ireland and Toronto Canada. We moved to Atlanta when I was just a teenager and while I might not be an Atlanta native, I have certainly made it my home. When I’m not setting up parties and pillows, I am raising my two wonderful children, with my hilarious husband, David, who is The King of Dad Jokes.
It could be said that the entrepreneurial spirit runs in my blood; growing up, my mother ran an antique business and started an after school program. When I was younger, I knew I wanted to run my own business but didn’t know what. Funny how your own children can point you in a new direction. Which is exactly what happened when I kept getting the question, “Can we have a sleepover?” It was the spark that ignited Sweet Dream Sleepovers.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I don’t think anyone can escape the real struggle of life. Creating a new business is as much challenging as it is rewarding. I think the fact that I am willing to start a business in the midst of a pandemic says one thing. I am up for a challenge.

Sweet Dream Sleepovers is Atlanta’s premier Slumber Party Rental Company. We rent both outdoor tents and indoor teepees. What is “success” or “successful” for you?
As an event planner, success is a successful event. If it’s a Birthday slumber party, everyone has a wonderful time, and the parents can enjoy their day stress-free. Or a group of women enjoying re-connecting for a Bachelorette party. My success is meeting each client’s individual goal for their specific event, so their success is my success.
